This will be an interesting voyage. For the record, I have my PMP and I was the Director of Membership on a PMI Chapter board for two years so I am somewhat acquainted with the process from my own experiences of getting my PMP as well as helping shepherd a few people through the system.

One challenge is creating the experience resume portion of the application. It isn't difficult but it is somewhat detailed. You can do it dynamically online but, in my case, I found it useful to get a printout of the data entry pages and then create a spreadsheet to capture all of the information. Once I had captured it in a spreadsheet, it was easier to post it to the web page. I tried to make it somewhat "friendly" so that I could pass the blank form along to others when they were doing their data capture and entry.

I believe the information requested now is more extensive than in the past so my old spreadsheet probably isn't of much use. However, if you do decide to create a spreadsheet (even a basic version without lots of formatting and dropdown selection boxes), you might want to post it (or a link to it) on your site.

PMI isn't "paranoid" about their materials but they are certainly protective of their copyrights (and related revenue stream!). You don't have to be a member to get the PMBOK Guide since you can purchase it directly from PMI or from a bookstore.

(BTW ... some people are quite didactic and *insist* that you refer to the "PMBOK Guide" -- I'm quite happy to let others refer simply to the PMBOK since, in almost every case, they are referring to the Guide and not to the voluminous materials from which the guide is drawn.)
